Adolescence and young adulthood are formative years defined by rapid changes that lay the foundation for future success and well-being, yet many young people face obstacles such as a lack of guidance and limited resources.
Approximately three quarters of Australian adolescents will experience clinically significant symptoms of anxiety or depression. Almost two thirds of these adolescents report these symptoms on at least three separate occasions throughout this period; these are not isolated events. Many young people feel uncertain about their future, unsure of what career path to follow, how to deal with academic or social pressures, or how to manage the transitions that come with growing up.
Throughout his work as a general practitioner with an interest in child and adolescent health, Marco has identified a significant gap in the service provision of guidance and assistance for those who perhaps do not require specific mental health services but are rather seeking positive role models and mentorship.
It is for this reason that The Mentor Space exists; bridging these gaps by offering accessible, impactful mentoring that empowers young people to unlock their full potential. Through goal setting, progressive mindset training and positive habit formation, The Mentor Space aims to have the next generation not only overcoming the challenges of today but better equipped to navigate the complexities of tomorrow, creating a future where they can thrive personally and professionally.
